Community Archives and the Heritage Lottery Fund

The last workshop was held on 30th September 2009 at Wolverhampton Archives. The next workshop date will be in 2010 and will be advertised here.

This one-day workshop designed specifically for community archive groups.

In 2007, community archive volunteers and professional archivists attending the first national Community Archives conference responded to a survey on needs. Respondents rated 'Guidance on funding opportunities' as the second highest need for the sector. This workshop is designed to help address that need.

The course objectives are:

  • Participants will have a basic understanding of the Heritage Lottery Fund and its aims
  • Participants will have greater confidence in planning their project
  • Participants will have considered their next steps in developing a funding bid and will have an awareness of available guidance
